Dr. Tina Bizjak da Fonseca is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics with solid European academic and clinical training and a comprehensive, personalized approach to women’s health. Her career combines clinical practice, scientific research and specialist training, with the aim of providing rigorous, caring medical care adapted to the needs of each patient.
She graduated in Medicine from the University of Graz (Austria) in 2011 and completed her specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University Medical Center Maribor (Slovenia) in 2017. She later earned a doctorate in medicine with a thesis on the genetics of uterine prolapse, an area in which she has specific scientific training. She also holds the Bachelor certificate of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE), which accredits her training in gynecological endoscopic surgery.
Throughout her career she has combined clinical work with research and participation in international congresses. She has also served on the Patient Rights Commission of Slovenia’s Ministry of Health, an experience that reinforces her commitment to patient-centered medicine based on respect, information and shared decision-making.
Dr. Bizjak da Fonseca believes that every woman needs care adapted to her stage of life, her symptoms and her personal circumstances. That is why she places great importance on listening, explaining diagnostic and treatment options clearly, and supporting her patients in making decisions about their health.
Her practice ranges from preventive gynecology and pregnancy follow-up to the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological conditions, endoscopic surgery, pelvic floor disorders and care during menopause. Her scientific and surgical training allows her to approach complex problems from an individualized perspective, weighing the most suitable medical and surgical options in each case.
In an international setting like Marbella, communication is an essential part of medical care. Dr. Tina speaks seven languages fluently: Spanish, English, German, Slovenian, Portuguese, Croatian and Serbian. This allows her to treat patients of different nationalities directly in their own language, making communication and understanding of treatments easier and building a doctor–patient relationship based on trust.
